Technology for me means simplifying many things such as communication, the search for information, job searches, etc. In particular, technology helps me a lot to study and carry out research for my university. However, my favorite piece of technology is not the one that facilitates the search for information. My favorite technological advance is the one that allows me to travel in a faster way: “the airplane”. The airplane is a means of transport that I usually use. The first time I traveled on an airplane was the year 2009 and since then I use it every time I travel to another region. In my case, I have traveled to: Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, Copiapó , La Serena, Valdivia ,Puerto Montt, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The plane shortens travel times a lot, for example: The trip from Santiago to Antofagasta takes 20 hours by bus, however in airplane the trip lasts 2 hours. Without a doubt the airplane is the best invention of the last time!

When I was little my dream job was to be an architect. However, when I grew up I realized that I did not really like it. At 18 years old I just knew that I wanted to study.  I like the career of Public Administration because it is multidisciplinary. When I applied to it, it was my only option. I did not apply to another university only to the University of Chile. Even though I love this career there are other areas that I would love to learn as agronomy or forestry engineering. That is why; I plan to have post graduate studies in natural resources in the “Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile” Currently, I do not feel comfortable with the environment of the university but that’s a topic that I would not like talk about in this blog.

My Name is Catalina Arias Vargas. I was born on january 6th 1999 in the city of Santiago, specifcally in Puente Alto. I studied in four schools in "Colegio Merryland", "Colegio nueva era siglo XXI", "Colegio San Cristobal de las Casas" and "Colegio Particular La Concepción".  my family is made up of my mom and me. We are a small family. My hobbie is dancing Andean dances, particulary Caporales. It is an original dance of Bolivia and represents the work of the black slaves. The sound of the bells of the men’s boots represents the sound of the chains that the slaves wore on their ankles. I love Caporales for its meaning. Besides, currently I am dancing with my boyfriend and our project is to go for the second time to carnival of Arica named “Con la fuerza del sol Inti Ch’amampi”
